Who joins, who validates and who pays matters more than the smart contract. Lessons for teams starting a permissioned network.
A network is a business arrangement
Many blockchain pilots end after a demo because the participants never agreed how the network would run. The technology is rarely the blocker.
Decide these first
Write a short governance charter covering membership criteria, who operates nodes, how disputes are resolved and how costs are shared. Then design identity and privacy channels to match it.
Connect it to real systems
A ledger nobody can integrate with has no value. Plan REST or GraphQL gateways and ERP connectors alongside the chaincode, and keep personal data off the ledger with private collections or off-chain storage.
